Documentary
When the Italian government presented a draft law that would grant rights to unmarried and gay couples, a wave of homophobia hit Italy. The Vatican and conservatives fought against the proposal, preaching that the end of morality and the destruction of family would be imminent if the legalization of civil unions were not blocked. Together for over eight years, Luca and Gustav, an adorable Italian gay couple, wanted to understand the differing positions erupting across their land. This quirky and charming documentary follows their journey into a country they did not know before and did not expect to find: their own. Lively and energetic, SUDDENLY, LAST WINTER is a refreshingly lighthearted look at serious issues, taking a personal and humorous approach to understanding and acceptance.
Features
Based on a novel by controversial British shock writer Julie Burchill, SUGAR RUSH is the tale of Kim, a 15-year-old lesbian virgin relocated very much against her will from London to Brighton. Kim’s got a massive crush on her new best pal, the beautiful, opportunistic, self-absorbed Maria “Sugar” Sweet. But she also has to deal with Tom, the stalker next door, her brother Matt, who walks around with a fish bowl on his head dreaming of outer space, and her mother Stella, who shags the handyman under the nose of her caring, clueless husband Nathan. Find out how Kim survives in a world full of lies, delusions, obsessions, and sexual hangups— and how she sorts out her addiction to Sugar—in this sneak peek of Channel Four’s sleek, sexy adaptation, soon to be a hit series on here! TV. Consider yourself warned: this SUGAR RUSH is habit-forming and will leave you wanting more!
