In this gritty Spanish tale, the search for acceptance drives a group of young men in pursuit of very different dreams after they escape from a youth reformatory and head to Madrid. Joel wants only to hunker down with the kind of nice girl who likes bad boys. Driss, a Moroccan dodging deportation, seeks approval from Xabi, a charismatic male hustler and aspiring terrorist. While Xabi, the leader of the group has his own agenda. During his last escape, he became the protégé and lover of Iñaki, a Basque terrorist. This time, however, Iñaki is always just out of reach, just out of contact. Xabi becomes convinced his mentor is testing him, daring him to do something big and prove his loyalty. Xabi’s quest is complicated after he hustles and robs a john who isn’t what he appears to be. The police hunt them all as both Xabi and Iñaki put their dangerous plans in motion. Antonio Hens, writer-director of both BULGARIAN LOVERS and DOORS CUT DOWN, returns with a story layered with complicated emotions.
