And Then Came Lola

My Rating:
Run time: 70 min. | US
In a fast-paced race against time, Lola has three chances to dash across the city to her partner’s rescue. No, this isn’t RUN LOLA RUN but a sexy and hilarious lesbian homage to that classic rush of a film. This time Lola (Ashleigh Sumner) is a talented but distracted San Francisco photographer who has to deliver some prints in a hurry to her gal Casey (Jill Bennett) way across town. It may not be a matter of life and death, but when every passing minute is one minute closer to Lola losing her girlfriend to an alluring seductress (who is also Lola’s ex), Lola has every reason to risk life and limb to get there in time. From the Embarcadero to Dolores Park to Chinatown, Lola sprints, bikes, hitches rides, and flirts her way past many obstacles, including a feisty meter maid, an angry dog, a runaway subway car, and another ex. Reimagining Lola’s frantic journey three times, AND THEN CAME LOLA delivers funny, imaginative animated sequences and steamy “what if?” erotic teases (a threesome? meter maid bondage? anonymous alley sex?), and shows how a single decision can create a domino effect of events.

Fun film, really creative and energetic. Loved the therapy scenes, and the use of animation and still photos. The acting was solid, especially the lead. Great sound track too. Plus all the ladies were easy on the eyes:)!
