Jack Wrangler Tribute: Gemini

Run time: 65 min. | US
On April 7, 2009, the legendary Jack Wrangler, age 63, passed away from emphysema. A pioneer of the gay-liberation movement, he was outspoken in the media regarding his homosexuality and adult film work at a time when both were strictly taboo to most of America. Born John Robert Stillman, Wrangler made his first appearance in a male strip show in 1970; more than 50 gay and straight adult films followed. Strongly criticized for “turning straight,” he eventually married 1940s singing sensation Margaret Whiting, 22 years his senior. In 1986 Jack retired from porn and devoted his time to his first love, musical theater.

Last year we screened WRANGLER: ANATOMY OF AN ICON. This year, as a tribute, we're showing one of Wrangler’s classic adult films, GEMINI. Jack plays a man with multiple personality disorder: one is a devoted boyfriend, the other is having sex with men in every dark, sweaty corner in town. But don’t worry, the doctor assures his boyfriend he’ll be completely cured. Relive the ‘70s by seeing this vintage film on the big (and we mean big) screen.

Contains graphic sexuality. 21+ only.
