During the day, overworked Franceska
drives her taxi. At night, she cares for her
overbearing father and wild teenage sister,
Antoinetta. When Antoinetta runs off on
Christmas Eve to be with her boyfriend,
Franceska must follow her to Rotterdam in
hopes of bringing her back to her senses.
On the road, she discovers Gerlinde, dazed
and bleeding in her wrecked car on the
side of the road. Despite Franceska’s efforts
to take her to a hospital, Gerlinde stays in
the cab all the way to Rotterdam. Sexual
tension simmers between the two travelers
as Gerlinde’s failed affair with a married
woman is revealed. Using flashback and
foreshadowing, director Angela Maccarone
(UNVEILED, SLGFF 2005) slowly illustrates
the stories behind the characters of
VIVERE. The stories wrap around each
other, creating a narrative that unfolds like a puzzle as the women struggle to connect
with one another.
AFTERPARTY - VIVERE reception hosted by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany. Break out the lederhosen and sample delicious German food and beer at this South Lake Union hotspot. Feierabend, 422 Yale Ave N.
